Modest Family Solutions (MFS)was founded two years ago providing community resources to homeschooling parents. MFS contracts with local corporations and facilities based on needs assessment to offer discounts up to 33% to multi sibling and low-income families. Allowing access to activities, women’s fitness, wellness, and nutrition services.
2019 MFS established Modest at 425 fitness, Arena Sports, and Modest at the YMCA for women’s only swim with children care. In Snohomish and King County MFS Launched Ummah Sustained Garden and Ummah Sustained Learning Labs in Everett is an homeschool resource and respite to provide inexpensive biology and technology kits, art, and journaling a conscious US history with the emphasis on BLACK, Indigenous, People of Color. in Everett. Teaching K-12 students to grow their food indoor hydroponics and outside in soil. Modest Family Solution became an affiliate of WSU Master Gardener Outreach and WSU Extension Snohomish.
2020 MFS Ummah Sustained opened its doors to the general public to use outdoor education and opportunities to daycares and at home families.
2021 Modest Family Solutions is a Statewide AmeriCorps service site located in Everett, WA hosted by Common Threads Farm, located in Bellingham, WA Modest Family Solutions, DBA Modest Farming Solutions and Ummah Sustained Agroecology Center has affiliations with UW and WSU Snohomish County Extension 4-H Youth Development Programs. As a newly established Sustainable Social Enterprise enabling agroecosystems to impact food insecurities in Western Washington through;
1) WSU 1st Jr Master Gardener Program
4) BIPOC Supply Chain entrepreneurship
5) Youth Empowerment Network: which Incorporate environmental protection of ecosystems in the Pacific Northwest.
Thanks to our generous donors that see the importance of our concentration in Food Justice rooted in Agroecology education while serving as a tool for food sovereignty. A facilitator of the Washington State Department of Agriculture- WSDA Producer Toolkit, Modest Family Solutions Adopt- A - Farm Hydroponics production and go to market training program provide consignment retail space in our BIPOC Farmers Market and emergency food box distribution. We prioritize working with BIPOC communities as they are underrepresented in farming communities and face additional barriers to farming including food injustice, microaggressions within the farming community, and land inequality. Additionally, our goals and partnerships allow us to reach formerly incarcerated BIPOC youth to support their reentry into society and youth development. Ummah Sustained Agroecology Center at Modest Family Solutions is a unique National FarmtoSchool program that provides hands-on farming experience, hydroponic, garden-based lessons grounded in permaculture science and allows opportunity for local food tastings, farmer visits to classrooms, farm field trips, farm to school related family and community engagement.

November 18th the grand opening of Modest Produce Stand where you can Buy1Give1 fresh produce food box that features PNW BIPOC Farmers Collaborative & Black Farmers Collective. Recognized by the City of Bothell, Modest Family Solutions was selected for its BIPOC Supply Chain Incubator. MFS has distributed up to 850 boxes/ 11,000 pounds of food to 850 (+4) families a week. Food for the community with your support Modest Family Solutions Farm acquired 10 acres. Normalizing BIPOC Farming and land ownership for future generations. Ummah Sustained Hanging Gardens and Produce includes applied skill pathways to a livable wage option in Sustainable Ag, Construction, and Renewable Energy. Supplying food deserts on 1% of the water standard soil agriculture uses in our region while creating jobs and produce 365 days a year!!
